Exit 77 is known as the business gateway to Chehalis (population 7,225) and Lewis County seat, W. Main Street which connects to Market Blvd. to the east, and serves as the north-south arterial through Chehalis’ central business district. Zoned Commercial Freeway, to provide for freeway oriented businesses, exit 77 is fed from State Hwy 6 west to Washington’s ocean beaches and the historic Chehalis River Bridge in Aberdeen, WA.

Increased residential development to the west of exit 77 in the communities of Adna, Boistfort, and PeEll continue to feed the commercial business traffic coming into Chehalis.

With the future expansion of the Chehalis-Centralia I-5 corridor, the northern exits 79 (Chamber Way) and 81 (Mellen Street) are in planning for revisions due to lanspace to accommodate 6 lanes of traffic. Exit 77 will remain as a pivotal and growing traffic arterial serving the southern Twin Cities (Centralia & Chehalis)
